Do you have clothes that you don't fit or that you don't wear anymore? Do you want to make a small difference in the world? Kanji Laundry, in cooperation with the Salvation Army, is now offering free pickup of unwanted clothes. When you have your laundry done by us, simply put your unwanted clothes in a seperate bag and our delivery person will pick it up along with your laundry. Your unwanted clothes will be sold at a Salvation Army thrift store, where your donation can make all the difference to those in need in Montreal.
From the Salvation Army's Mission and Values
"CO-OPERATION
We encourage and foster teamwork and partnerships.
Our ministries work cooperatively and collaboratively to fulfil our
mission. We recognize that volunteers, employees, adherents, soldiers,
senior recruits, and officers are our greatest assets in fulfilling
our mission. We value partnerships with individuals and groups beyond
the Army."
The Salvation Army has enjoyed positive international exposure as a non-profit organization, sponsoring social and welfare programs around the world and engaging in countless acts of charity. In Canada, they are one the largest national clothing recycling operations, with over 200 thrift stores from coast to coast. These thrift stores sell clothing and household items at low prices, with all the proceeds helping those in need. While they do offer a few "Donation Centres", free pickup in Canada is not as readily available or known about as it is in the United States.
Kanji Laundry realizes that while many people are familiar with the encouraging work of the Salvation Army, it's often extremely difficult to find the time to make a donation to the nearest thrift store. If people have their clothes on their mind while using our service, why not give them an oppurtunity to make a small difference in the world.
